UPDATE: Changes in Visa Application fee

On July 1, 2024, the Australian government introduced updated visa application charges to more accurately reflect the costs associated with processing applications. This change impacts various visa subclasses, including those for skilled workers, students, and family members. These fees will be adjusted annually.

The new fee structure considers several factors, such as:

  • Government policies and priorities

  • Economic conditions

  • Modifications in immigration programs

  • Administrative costs of visa processing

The fee adjustments differ among visa categories. For instance, student visa fees saw a substantial increase from $710 to $1,600, while other categories experienced more modest changes. For example, the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa's short-term stream fee rose from $1,455 to $1,495.
